Sand
Sand is the most important construction material. Private construction and public infrastructure projects in the state are dependent on the availability of sand. Sand mining is the extraction of sand, mainly through an open pit but sometimes mined from river beds. In Bihar, sand is extracted from river bed often referred to as Balughats.There are number of balughats in the state of Bihar which are being used for extraction of sand.
